Saint Patrick's Day Party
Happy almost spring! We are so ready for some warmer weather here in Portland. Today, we are talking all about our Saint Patrick's Day celebration!
Saint Patrick’s Day Party
Between Valentine’s Day and Easter, Saint Patrick’s Day seems to be forgotten. We love celebrating in our home, so we’ll take any excuse to throw a fun themed party/breakfast/playdate. For our breakfast, we decided to make green pancakes! We made these by adding a couple of drops of green food coloring to our pancake mix. The key is not cooking them too quickly. If you do, they’ll turn brown and that just won’t fly for our Saint Patrick’s Day pancakes. We topped our green Saint Patrick’s Day pancakes with whipped cream and the marshmallows from Lucky Charms cereal. They really make our breakfast special for the holiday!
Saint Patrick’s Day Decor
For our decor, we added a balloon arch (tutorial here), green flatware, garlands from one of our favorite Etsy shops, festive hats from Little Blue Olive, and lots of dollar store Saint Patrick’s Day finds! I picked up a craft for the girls because I always try to give them an activity to work on! Even if it’s just a coloring book with crayons, I like to keep them creating. A great tip is to stock up at the end of the holiday on themed crafts. They will usually be up to 80 or 90% off!
Saint Patrick’s Day Style
One of my favorite colors is Kelly green, and I find we get a lot of use out of it besides just at Saint Patrick’s Day. I love cardigans for the girls, and these adorable Kelly green ones had to come home with us. They are perfect for spring and such a classic.
