Looking for a family vacation destination?
Many people take advantage of their children's time off from school during the summer to plan a family vacation. Whether you like exploring a new city, hanging out at the beach or visiting a popular tourist destination, there are countless ways to create great memories with your kids any time. Those looking for some help deciding where to go may take the advice of Family Travel Magazine, which recently released a list of the top five destinations for a family vacation.
Topping the list is Canada.
"Canada is a unique nearby family vacation destination because the weather is generally warm but not too hot, with plenty of historical and cultural opportunities," the publication wrote. "From Vancover to Halifax, and Banff to Quebec City, there are many Canadian cities ideal for a family vacation."
Other places worth considering include San Diego, Colonial Williamsburg, Colorado and Vermont.
While choosing a destination may be easy for some, others may have a hard time getting their kids excited about their trip or struggle with the actual traveling to their destination.
A recent article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution suggested parents enlist their kids' assistance in researching for their vacation ahead of time in order to help plan the itinerary.
As always, being prepared for the trip, whether you're driving or flying, is crucial. Bring snacks, games and travel-friendly new or used toys to keep little ones occupied and avoid hearing "are we there yet?" a million times!
